Success Story: Alyssa Godesky

I have been a professional triathlete for 5 years, and since 2006 I’ve completed over 30 Ironmans and over 45 ultramarathons. If there is one thing I’ve learned in that time, it would be there is no secret recipe for success!

That said, consistency and accountability are two top characteristics that will help create success: Formula Complete Fitness has provided me with both of these. This season I had a different project on my schedule that was going to challenge me in a whole new way - I wanted to become the fastest woman to run the 273-mile long Vermont Long Trail. This would involve multiple days running 50 miles a day, and over 12,000 feet of climbing a day. I knew I needed something new in my training to build the strength required for this type of endeavor.

Cue Formula! I started with Equilibrium, and when I saw the benefit of the strength work from this class, I began 1-1 training with Ann as well. I love the flexibility of Equilibrium — I can always count on getting the most out of what my legs have on the day. Whether that is 8.0mph or 11.0mph, I don’t have to stress. I know the class environment will push me to do my best on the day and will also allow me to have some fun on the days when I am not feeling as good! The strength work also proved to be exactly what I needed to challenge me, providing me with the functional strength to take on the roots, rocks, and constantly varied terrain of the Long Trail.

The end result? I set the Fastest Known Time for a female on Vermont’s Long Trail this summer! I love how strong I have felt since adding Formula into my training mix, and I am super grateful to the team at Formula for helping me achieve this!
